AppsForBharat, the parent company of devotion platform Sri Mandir, has raised $18 million in its Series B funding round led by Fundamentum. Separately, Clean Electric has raised $6 million in its Series A funding round co-led by Info Edge Ventures, Pi Ventures, and Kalaari Capital.
Fundamentum leads $18m funding in AppsForBharat
AppsForBharat, the parent company of devotion platform Sri Mandir, has raised $18 million (Rs 151 crore) in its Series B funding round led by Fundamentum.
The round also saw participation from Susquehanna Asia VC as well as existing investors Elevation Capital, Peak XV, and Mirae Asset VC, the company said in a statement.
The funds will be utilised to scale the Sri Mandir app’s India and international operations, onboard new temples, launch new services, and build a comprehensive tech stack for the devotional ecosystem, the statement added.
Founded in November 2020 by serial entrepreneur and IIT Bombay Alumni Prashant Sachan, AppsForBharat addresses the devotional and spiritual needs of people. The Sri Mandir app currently provides access to 50+ temples across India, and enables users to participate in prayers, offer goods (Chadhava) as part of the rituals, and access devotional content from the comfort and convenience of their homes.
Since its launch in 2021, Sri Mandir claims to have garnered over 30 million app downloads.
Clean Electric raises $6m from Info Edge, Kalaari, others
Clean Electric, which develops fast-charging battery technology for electric vehicles, on Tuesday announced that it has raised $6 million in its Series A funding round co-led by Info Edge Ventures, Pi Ventures, and Kalaari Capital, with participation from Lok Capital and other strategic investors.
The newly raised funds will be directed towards expanding Clean Electric’s research and development, sales, and operations teams as well as developing new products focused on faster charging and renewable energy storage, per a company statement.
The company also plans to extend its technology to e-4W (electric four-wheelers) and commercial vehicles, further solidifying its position as a key player in the global transition to electric mobility.
Founded in 2016 by IIT-BHU graduates Akash Gupta, Abhinav Roy, and Ankit Joshi, Clean Electric develops advanced battery technologies for electric vehicles (EVs) and grid applications. The company’s solutions include proprietary rapid charging technology capable of fully charging EVs in under 12 minutes.
